Stylish Tattoos For Women – What Looks Best?

Many famous women are known for their tattoos. Celebrities like Victoria Beckham, Angelina Jolie, and Kat Von D display their ink proudly in very prominent places. Despite this celebrity trend, visible tattoos aren’t suitable for everyone, especially women in a professional work environment. That is not to say that “professional” women cannot or should not get tattoos, but that they should plan them carefully and in locations that are not always visible. We want stylish tattoos for women, not trashy tattoos.

For the modern girl abouit town it helps that in today’s society the tattoo has become much more widely accepted. Simple designs like hearts, stars, and flowers can be found in inconspicuous places like the tops and sides of feet, while more complex tattoos of objects like animals are commonly inked on sides, arms, and shoulders. The more complex a tattoo design is, the more space it will take up. Trying to fit an entire scene or picture onto the top of a foot can be a challenge for even the most experienced tattoo artist.

Another extremely common location for female tattoos is the lower back. Britney Spears is known for the fairy tattoo she has in this location, and like the fairy, butterflies and flowers are commonly seen in this spot. A great spot for a first tattoo due to the usually low amount of pain experienced, the lower back offers women a great spot to get a stylish tattoo that can easily be covered most of the time. Script tattoos, like the names of family members, passages from books, or famous quotes have become quite popular over the last few years, and are a good way to show off a unique interest or belief.

Tattoos aren’t for everyone, though. People with a fear of needles, blood, or with a very low pain tolerance will more than likely find the experience to be an unpleasant one. Doing research before getting a tattoo can help ease fears about the whole process, as well as answer questions about it pertaining to the type of ink and needles used, and how they have been known to affect different skin types. Of course, pregnant women should abstain from being tattooed for their child’s sake, as should people under the influence of alcohol, as this thins the blood and may prevent the artist from working as efficiently as possible.

From a small design on the foot to an entire ribcage tattoo, there are different choices for everyone. Tattoos are meant to express the individuality of the person getting them, and often say a lot about the person in general. Choosing a tattoo is an important decision, as it will be a part of the person’s body for the rest of their lives. Although tattoo removal is available and celebrities like Kelly Osbourne have undergone the process on some of their undesired ink, it is extremely expensive, and more painful than the initial tattoo. Size, placement, and overall design are just a few of the decisions that must be made before getting a tattoo, but in the end, the only person that can make the right ones is the person that will be sitting in the tattoo chair.
